A New CEO and CIMRO Turns 50
While I may be the new CEO for CIMRO, I am certainly not new to CIMRO. I was at CIMRO from 1996 - 2006 as Director of Operations. When I started at CIMRO, I was 22 years old and had just completed by BSN. At the time, I was still living at home with my parents.
Over the past 15 years, I have gained considerable experience and am incredibly grateful for the opportunities provided through the various leadership positions held at Carle Health and Health Alliance, most recently as SVP/Chief Clinical Integration Officer.
In 2019, I became a CIMRO Board Director, and then became the CIMRO Corporate Member Representative for the Great Plains Quality Innovation Network Board in 2020. I also serve on its Board Finance Committee, for which I am now Chair.
In my first few months, I have witnessed tremendous teamwork and commitment at all levels of the organization - just as it was 15 years ago. It is no wonder that CIMRO has been able to achieve its 50th year in business.
CIMRO has been serving the public and private healthcare sectors since 1972 by providing high-quality, unbiased peer review at reasonable prices. CIMRO holds a wide variety of private, state, and governmental healthcare-related contracts, and maintains a roster of nearly 425 credentialed physician and non-physician clinical peer reviewers. Millions of peer reviews have been conducted over the years and are consistently completed timely 99.4% of the time. Clients rate overall satisfaction with CIMRO at 4.9 on a 5-point Likert scale.
“CIMRO’s mission is to support improvements in the appropriateness, cost effectiveness, and quality of patient care and outcomes. We have remained steadfast with our commitment to our Mission for 50 years while also diversifying to meet the ever-changing needs of the healthcare industry and expanding to offer services nationally. Few organizations have the privilege of saying that. It is an exciting time for CIMRO. Our organization continues to grow and achieve new levels of excellence, which wouldn’t be possible without our committed team, expert physician reviewers, and supportive Board of Directors. Cheers to 50 more!” - Dr. Ronald Johnson, Vice Chair, CIMRO Board of Directors
I credit CIMRO as being instrumental in my professional development, and Tina Georgy, prior CEO, has become a treasured friend and mentor over the years. I am thankful and excited to return and continue the long-standing culture, build upon its strong foundation, and follow in the footsteps of strong and successful female executives. It has definitely been a full-circle moment!
