Peer Review Process
Sending a Case for Review | The process is easy. If you have a Peer Review Portal account, proceed to the Peer Review Portal tab.
If you do not have a Peer Review Portal login, notify CIMRO at [email protected] or 1.800.635.9407 that case(s) are being sent. All necessary information for CIMRO to proceed with review will be completed within the Peer Review Portal.
CIMRO's Review Coordinators are available to discuss your review concerns prior to receipt of the case. We work with you to ensure that the questions posed to the physician / clinical peer reviewer will provide the detail needed by your Medical Executive or Peer Review Committee. Our reviewers always address an overall “Was standard of care met?” in addition to the specific questions posed in each case.

Reviewer Selection & Processing the Review
When your record(s) are received, Review Coordinators perform a cursory review to ensure all necessary information is present for our peer reviewer to conduct the review. If information is missing from the record, CIMRO staff will contact you and request the needed information. We match cases by specialty, and select a reviewer from our panel of over 500 board certified, actively practicing peer reviewers. When a determination has been rendered, a detailed report of review findings is prepared.
Report of Findings & Time Frames
Each case is thoroughly reviewed, and a detailed report of the findings is delivered within 30 calendar days of receipt. Expedited reviews are available upon request. Reports are provided electronically through CIMRO’s Peer Review Portal, a secure and HIPAA-compliant web application built on the Salesforce platform. Upon request, reports can also be sent via fax or mail.
